Chiropractic
Transforming the health of each newborn, child, adult and elder through exceptional, gentle, drug free Chiropractic Care.
Fertility
Often fertility challenges are associated with less than optimal nervous system function. Chiropractors are experts in reducing nervous system interference by keeping the spine properly aligned, and allowing clear messages to travel to and from the brain and throughout the body, including the reproductive system. Chiropractic care can be used in conjunction with other approaches to enhance fertility and resolve infertility challenges as well as greatly improve the chances of successful medical procedures such as IVF.
Pregnancy
As a woman's pregnancy progresses, her center of gravity shifts outward and her posture compensations. Her ligaments become more lax (which is necessary for birthing) but these changes can add instability in all of her joints, including her spine and pelvis. Chiropractic care ensures that the main communication highway between brain and body is clear from any obstruction, tension or distortion which allows for ease during pregnancy as well as during labour. When all body systems are clearly connected they can work together in synchrony and balance.
Some of the other benefits of care during pregnancy include:
Maintaining a healthier pregnancy
Controlling symptoms of nausea
Relieving back, pelvic, pubic bone, neck or joint pain (84% of women found beneficial)
Easier labour experience
Shorter labour times (up to 40%)
More balanced posture
Reduction in the need for analgesics (50% reduction)
Providing an environment conducive to a head down, ideal position for the baby
Breech & Webster's Technique
If your baby is breech, there is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment called The Webster's Technique which enables chiropractors to establish balance in a pregnant woman’s pelvis and reduce stress in her uterus and supporting ligaments. This balanced state has been clinically shown to allow babies who were breech to turn into a head down position. This Webster Technique has been shown to be 82% effective.
Birth
Research has shown that Chiropractic care during pregnancy can reduce labour time (by 25% first time moms- by 40% second birth) and result in a more comfortable birth experience. Establishing pelvic balance and alignment in pregnancy through chiropractic care also helps birth in many ways including:
Aligning the pelvis to allow an optimal amount of space available for the baby to get into an optimal position.
Allowing the master communication nervous system to speak clearly to the uterus and cervix, allowing for more effective birth sensations and faster, easier births.
Infants and Children
In infants, the nervous system controls growth and development. Because infancy is the time of greatest brain and proprioceptive development, this is the optimal time to take care of the nervous system.
When adjusting a newborn to eliminate any disturbances, a skilled chiropractor will only use pressure equal to that which you would be comfortable using while pressing on your eye. The child is adjusted by hand and/or an adjustive device while either lying on a pillow or on his/her parent. It is simple, safe and effective – and is often done while sleeping – it is that gentle!
Other children's conditions that improve through chiropractic include:
Constipation
Ear infections
Colic
Asthma
Allergies
Headaches
Bed wetting

Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy at The WOMB
The WOMB welcomes all members of the family — whether that’s dad, grandma, or even your favourite postal worker. Massage therapy is widely recognized for its ability to support relaxation, reduce stress, relieve pain, and promote overall wellbeing.
Pregnancy
Prenatal massage can help reduce anxiety, ease muscle and joint discomfort, decrease swelling, and support emotional wellbeing during pregnancy. Research also suggests it may contribute to improved labour outcomes and newborn health.
Postpartum
Postpartum massage supports the body’s recovery after birth and can be an important part of adjusting to the physical and emotional changes of motherhood. Bodywork during this time can help restore balance, relieve tension, and promote overall healing.
Fertility
Fertility-focused massage supports reproductive health by improving circulation to the uterus and surrounding structures, reducing stress hormones, encouraging hormonal balance, and supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes.
Infants & Children
Infants
Infant massage has been shown to support digestion, relieve gas and colic, improve circulation, strengthen immune function, and support nervous system development while promoting bonding through the release of oxytocin.
Children
Massage can benefit children of all ages by helping support relaxation, recovery from athletic activity, and overall wellbeing. It may also be helpful for children experiencing stress, anxiety, growing pains, or certain chronic health conditions.
Naturopathy & Acupuncture
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine combines modern scientific knowledge with natural therapies to support the body’s ability to heal and maintain optimal health. Care focuses on identifying root causes of illness while supporting prevention and overall wellbeing.
Treatments may include clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle counselling, supplementation, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
Fertility & Pre-Conception
Naturopathic care can help support individuals and couples preparing for pregnancy or navigating fertility challenges. Treatment focuses on hormonal balance, reproductive health, and creating an optimal environment for conception.
Common concerns include PCOS, endometriosis, egg quality, IVF/IUI support, recurrent miscarriage, and male factor fertility.
Pregnancy & Postpartum
Naturopathic medicine offers gentle support during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Care may help manage concerns such as nausea, fatigue, swelling, and heartburn while supporting overall maternal health.
Postpartum care focuses on recovery, energy, milk supply, hormonal balance, and emotional wellbeing.
Infants, Children & Family Health
Naturopathic care takes a preventative, whole-family approach to health, supporting growth, immune function, nutrition, and common concerns such as digestive issues, eczema, stress, fatigue, and hormonal health.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is offered by our naturopathic doctors as part of their integrative care approach. This gentle therapy can support concerns such as pain, stress, sleep, digestion, fertility, pregnancy discomforts, and labour preparation.
Community acupuncture sessions may be available for existing naturopathy patients.
For insurance purposes, acupuncture services are billed under naturopathic medicine.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual form of therapy including cranio-sacral therapy, that uses palpation techniques to restore balance to nerves, connective tissue, internal organs, muscles and joints.
At The WOMB, we see many babies who struggle with colic-like symptoms, issues with tight frenulums (tongue ties), flat head challenges (plagiocephaly) and birth challenges.
Osteopathy is also a great modality for easing pregnancy aches and pains, such as carpal tunnel issues and round ligament pain. It doesn't stop there though!
Osteopathy is a great modality for all family members - whether they are postpartum, an athlete or struggling with a dis-ease of function in their body.
Paediatric Occupational Therapy for Retained Primitive Reflexes
Paediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) – Retained Reflex Integration (Ages ~4–12)
This OT service focuses on identifying and integrating retained primitive reflexes — early movement patterns that may be interfering with your child’s development, attention, coordination, or emotional regulation.
Rooted in the core principles of Occupational Therapy, this service helps support your child’s ability to participate in meaningful daily activities — at home, at school, and in play. We work with the neurological foundations of movement and self-regulation, using playful, movement-based strategies that help your child build stronger motor skills, improve sensory processing, and develop greater emotional resilience.
Common concerns addressed include (but are not limited to):
- Difficulty sitting still, focusing, or self-regulating
- Poor posture, balance, or coordination
- Delays in handwriting or fine motor skills
- Fatigue or clumsiness in sports or gym
- Sensory overload or meltdowns after school
This service is ideal for children who are functionally capable but still struggle in subtle, yet impactful ways. Many of our clients don’t have a formal diagnosis — but parents say, “Something just seems off, and we’re not sure why.”
OT helps build the foundation for higher-level development by supporting the connection between the body, brain, and environment.
Paediatric Physiotherapy
Paediatric physiotherapy treats infants, children and youth with congenital conditions, orthopedic and neurological injuries. We aim to help improve your child’s gross motor skills and mobility.
At the WOMB, our paediatric physiotherapists use a client & family centered approach to care, working with you to identify your child’s goals and to create an individualized treatment program. Our team uses a combination of hands-on treatment and exercise prescription through fun and functional activities.
Areas of Practice:
- Baby Milestone Check-ups
- Torticollis (tight neck) and Plagiocephaly (flat head)
- Developmental Delay
- Motor delay that may be associated with genetic or neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, hypotonia, etc.
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
The WOMB’s physiotherapists use a holistic approach that includes education and counselling related to needed lifestyle or behaviour changes, and exercise/movement prescription.
FERTILITY: The combined care of fertility specialists and physiotherapists has led to increasingly successful outcomes. The WOMB’s pelvic health physiotherapists use a combination of evidence-based manual therapies, neuro-modulation techniques and exercise prescription to optimize your pelvic region’s health so that your body is more receptive to conception.
PREGNANCY + BIRTH: Birthing people who see a WOMB Physiotherapist learn about effective birthing and "pushing" techniques and positions that prepare them for an easier birthing stage and reduce the risk of tearing. Research studies confirm that women who learn how to properly train their pelvic floors during pregnancy have shorter less painful labours, less soft tissue damage and faster recoveries!
Pelvic girdle pain is very common during pregnancy and our physiotherapists have advanced training in obstetrical care to treat this.
POSTPARTUM: Through specialization in pelvic floor rehabilitation, The WOMB’s pelvic health physiotherapists ensure that any bladder issues (“leaking with laughing”), connective tissue separation of your abdomen (“mummy tummy” or diastasis recti) and/or any lingering causes of pelvic or back pain, are all corrected for optimal physical function.
LIFE FUNCTION: Changes due to fluctuations in hormones, bladder health, uterine and anal prolapse, leaking and inablilty to hold your bladder. Applying their expertise in urogynecology, The WOMB’s Pelvic Health Physiotherapists can assist you in restoring your bladder function and optimizing overall mobility.
PAEDIATRICS: Pelvic floor dysfunction is very common in children. Most paediatric primary care visits are for incontinence, bedwetting, and constipation. Paediatric pelvic floor dysfunction refers to a wide range of issues that occur when the pelvic floor muscles are weak, in spasm or too tight.
Reiki
Sleep Education, Consultation & Support
The WOMB provides an alternative to traditional, separation-based sleep training methods, with a focus on strengthening your attachment, supporting the emotional well-being of both of you as parents and your children, and co-creating strategies with you that are customized to fit your family’s unique needs. The WOMB’s support is ideal for parents who would like to learn more about age-appropriate sleep behaviour and determine the WHY behind their baby’s sleep challenges. This attachment-centered approach is supportive of breastfeeding and bed-sharing families.
